The Competitions department at Habbox consists of many hard-working members striving to provide competitions on a weekly and often daily basis, which manifest in a variety of different forms for Habbox members to enjoy. Whether you fancy entering one of the regular “Caption Phrase” competitions, searching for images to match a theme or attempting to create a poetic masterpiece, you can be sure that there’s always something to satisfy your creativity. With up to forty-two competitions being posted every month, there are many chances for members to win a wide range of prizes on Habbo and on HabboxForum.
The Competitions Department has been around at Habbox for over eight years, with the very first Competitions Manager being MissAlice back in June 2004. She paved the way for ground-breaking and eye-grabbing competitions which would capture the eyes of many Habbox users and obtain a great deal
of interest from members of Habbo. A wide variety of prizes have been rewarded following the introduction of the department; including HC Sofas, furniture, credits, forum VIP, forum reputation and occasionally “points” for various campaigns. All the prizes handed out to users are from donations to Habbox by its generous users.Competitions can be entered via HabboxForum and the prize for each one is usually 5 credits + 10 reputation, however this can vary, including the chance to win Forum VIP and points for your team during certain events – for example the Habbox Summer Spectacular. In January 2010, the Competitions Department had a re-vamp by retiring the old competitions format of long winded text and disclaimers. Competitions now instead appear to users in a much shorter and eye-catching format. Further, competitions have developed over the years and now, more are interactive with some involving a fixed answer which is Private Messaged to “HabboxComps” rather than the traditional procedure of replying to a thread. [Graphics] competitions have also been added, thus allowing certain users to show off their pixel creativity and earn a prize simultaneously!
