Introduction

The Rare Value Department have been around for years and are the most frequent used values in the hotel. All values collected are based on the average value from a range of trades which have been seen or traded and noted down by the Rare Values Reporters - they are not made up. The values are updated regularly to keep up with the rise and fall in value of many of the rares, however Habbox is, and has only ever claimed to be, a guide.

About Rare Values

Rare Values have been the largest part of Habbox since 2004 and have the largest influence on values on Habbo UK. Many fansites over the past six years have tried to do their own take on values but all have come and gone. It is very hard for people to crack the Rare Values market as Habbox has been around for many years. This means that Habbox has to work extra hard so that their values are the most accurate they can be. To do this, Habbox has a large team of around 10 people who update values for their managers to approve or deny them.

Information

Some people think that Habbox has the power to rig values. This has never been the case, if Habbox were to rig values then they would run the risk of losing thousands of extremely loyal users of the Rare Values on the site. Values are only changed when values reported on Habbox Forum or by the large team of reporters. If the Rare Values Manager and Assistant believe that a value is wrong or possibly fake these values will not be counted, the manager, the assistant and Head Rare Values Reporters are the only ones (except General Management who can approve and deny values, ultimately updating them on the site). However, normal Rare Values Reporters ask for values to be updated - they don't have the permissions to change them without a senior member of staff going through them. Habbox uses an average system to get the values for every rare on the hotel when they are reported.
 
The Rare Values Department is a pretty silent department on Habbox. You do not really hear much about them and what they actually do but rest assured they are always there working away to provide us with this fantastic service. A lot of time and effort go into ensuring that values are accurate and that they are not fake to ensure the best and true to their real values as possible. Not only does it take a lot of time to get these values but it also takes many hours a day to make sure that these values are updated on the site which is down to a few people only and they are the department managers. From the list of managers below you can tell that some of them have had longer and sometimes multiple stays as the Rare Value Manager but each of them leave their mark on the department and Habbo.
